Station 59 Dedication

On Saturday March 19th, 2011 the new station 59 in Sunshine Summit was dedicated in an official ceremony. Citizens from around the community joined in a day of station tours and great food provided by the Sunshine Summit Volunteer's. County Supervisor Bill Horn along with District Representative Donna Thompson from Senator Joel Anderson's office and executive staff from CAL FIRE/San Diego County Fire Authority all joined in the celebration. Supervisor Horn explained how important this new facility is to the county and that the relationship between the county and CAL FIRE continues to grow. Chief Dennis Parry of Sunshine Summit Fire was moved by the amount of support from the community and the County Fire Authority and was also presented with a proclamation from Representative Thompson. The station is located at 35227 Highway 79 in Sunshine Summit and the crew is excited to show off there new station so feel free to stop by.
